Welcome to Clabber Hill Furniture and Gift Store. We are a family run business in the heart of Queen Anne's County on Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore. We have a dozen rooms in our Turn of the Century General Store fully furnished with both finished and "ready to finish" solid wood furniture that you can purchase. Whether you are the handy type or would like to finish your first piece we have quality gel stains and colonial color milk paints with $5.00 finishing kits/instructions. But if time doesn't allow, you can select one of our many colors and we will hand finish for you. Most of our furniture is made by the Amish located on the Delmarva Peninsula and nearby Pennsylvania. However, we do have furniture makers as far as North Carolina and Georgia (see our links). You can choose from over 1,500 pieces but if we don't have what you are looking for, we can make it. We use a variety of wood - oak, maple, cherry and pine.
In our own shop we make potting tables and our ever popular primitive Captains Chest and River Benches which both double as coffee tables. Our patrons also love our Barnwood Harvest Tables. Made in lengths up to 8 foot with matching solid benches. All the wood is harvested from 100-200 year old barns and homes throughout Queen Anne's County.
Well enough about furniture....let's talk gifts. A few years back after a major employee campaign, I was finally persuaded to offer gift items. Praise the Lord! Given the recent turn down in the economy and our patrons budgets our gift items have been as popular as our quality furniture. Today we have an expanded selection of all handmade primitives, candles, quilts, prints, window boxes, mirrors, children's toys, lamps, signs, dog/cat bowls, waterfowl/beachy stuff and more than I can think of right now.
Recently we have been stocking food items made right here on the Eastern Shore including Pecan Yummies, Fortune Cookies, Sauces, Honey and the famous "Smith Island Cakes". You'll find the mini cakes and full size cakes in our pantry refrigerator.
